Malmö has long been described as the City of parks. Public spaces play a crucial role as an attractive possibility for events. The parks are 'green spaces' - oases in the middle of an urban environment. In the leafy outdoor environment there are event sites with access to electricity, water and everything you might need. The same applies to Malmö's attractive city centre, its squares and its pedestrian zones.
Great effort is put into creating a wealth of activities on the city's stages and arenas for culture, sport and entertainment. This work prioritises the shaping of attractive meeting and event venues, a high level of expertise in the municipality's own work and clear contact routes for organisers.
Since there is a big demand it is always a good idea to make an early start and book the venue!
Some venues can be booked a long time in advance. Venues set up for cultural or recreational purposes such as outdoor theatres and sports arenas are booked by contacting the special department in question. Use of public space in parks and squares requires a permit in accordance with the Public Order Act.
