There are good conditions for cultural and entertainment events in Malmö's varied outdoor environment - everything from smallscale local activities to really big international events.
In one of the city's most important green spaces, Folkets Park [community park], the amusement park's range of attractions, restaurants and stages are combined with the opportunity of putting on outdoor events. Folkets Park is a living meeting place for people of all ages which bears the positive mark of Malmö's cultural multiplicity.
Malmö's very fine amphitheatre in Pildammsparken - Pildammsteatern - occupies a special place in the hearts of Malmö's residents. It is used every summer for theatrical and musical events from the middle of June to the end of August, mostly under the auspices of the City of Malmö. There are also smaller amphitheatres with natural public venues at certain locations in the outer areas of Malmö.
Some meeting places have also been developed in well-preserved historic environments, e.g. Hedmanska gården on Lilla Torg, which has a stage for musical events in the summer.
