Its architect, Santiago Calatrava, who works in Zurich, Paris and Valencia, has a solid background of training as a sculptor, architect and engineer. The unrestricted movements of people are seen through the eyes of the artist. Strict geometry and state-of-the-art material technology. This building consists of a core and an outside bearing structure made of steel. The building twists 90 degrees around its own axis, is 190 metres high and is comprised of nine cubes each of which have five floors. Each floor is 400 sq metres on average and the number of apartments on each floor varies. Turning Torso is expected to be completed by spring 2005.
