This is a park where we can enjoy the sun, play sports and games, meet friends and watch events. This park forms a link with Ribersborgsparken in the west and Scaniaparken in the north - Malmö's green parkway by the sea. Daniaparken offers expanses, the horizon, light and sunsets. This parks opens towards the sea and the world. It was designed by the senses.
The elements of exposure and openness in this park make a strong contrast to the adjacent city district with its small, narrow alleys and squares. Three so-called scouts have been constructed along the stone sea revetment. These are ramps that project outwards into the water. You can stroll out on these to admire the view, feel the sea and the wind. Or you can find shelter from the wind behind the stonewall. To the north is the Big Ramp which leads up towards the Stone Table. This is an open site, exposed to all the whims of nature.
It is almost impossible to be here on stormy days. Still, summer evenings invite you to sit here and watch the sun sink across the Sound. South of the Stone Table are the Zig-Zag Gardens and the Perennial Terraces that are more intimate and sheltered areas.
You can gaze at the view from three beautifully carpentered balconies on Strandgatan. A park is an eco-system where different forms of biological life work together. And therefore a park of this size is excellent for the sustainability of the Bo01 area.
