The former Kockums area is where the Kockums shipbuilding company once had its shipyard.
Today, Kockums no longer has any production whatsoever here. The wind power station and other mechanical engineering production and repairs can be seen from Varvsgatan.
Many of the old buildings here stand empty today. These include the beautiful brick buildings where the foundry used to be housed. Nowadays, Kockums only representation is in the old main office, Gängtappen.
