The Child and Recreation Programme is a vocational programme for work within different areas of the society, such as the care, culture and leisure time for pre-school children and for young school children in the spare time sector.
The way we work is based on active collaboration and demands interest and responsibility from the students.
We offer three choices:
- Recreation
- Pedagogical and Social activities
- The Theoretical Supplementary Course
- Individual Choice
Do you enjoy leading, supporting and motivating other people? Do you want to focus on the healthy parts of every individual? Then you should choose The Child and Recreation Programme at HeleneholmUpperSecondary School. You can work with children, young people, old people and people with a disability or within the spare time sector or organizations. If you want to go on with further studies you can do so as well.
Our school has an extensive cooperation with about one hundred employers within child care, pre-schools and the spare time sector. A 17-week practical experience is included in the programme. Then you may practise planning and leading different kinds of activities. The Child and Recreation Programme will help you develop your leadership skills, teach you to discuss and reflect and most of the work will be done in the form of projects, as in the society.
The Child and Recreation Programme will give you a broad education where you will learn how to meet and understand the needs of different kinds of people. You will also be qualified for further studies to become e.g. a teacher in the pre-school or the elementary school, a policeman, a spare time leader or a social worker.
If you choose the Child and Recreation Programme, you will be able to achieve the maximum merits of 2.5 extra points.
